The Open St Andrews 2027
The Open Championship, also known as The Open, is the oldest golf tournament in the world, first played in 1860. Organised by The R&A, it is one of the four major men’s championships in professional golf. It takes place in various locations around the UK, and is the only one held outside of the United States. The R&A recently announced that the 155th Open will be played at St Andrews in Scotland from 11th to 18th July 2027. This is a prestigious event in the golfing calendar, and we are delighted to welcome it back to St Andrews.
The Open and St Andrews
St Andrews hosted its first Open in 1873. Since then, its famous Old Course has set the stage for some of the most memorable moments in golf history. To date, St Andrews has hosted The Open a record 30 times, more than any other location. It has also hosted The Women’s Open on three occasions. St Andrews currently hosts the men’s Open every 5 years, with the last time being in 2022.
